Kakobuy anti-counterfeiting policy, and where community framing collides with it

This is the one place where the community version and the official version cannot both be right. Kakobuy’s policy says what it says; these notes do not soften it, and neither should a thread.

What Kakobuy’s anti-counterfeiting policy says, in its own words

Opening paragraphs of Kakobuy’s Anti-Counterfeiting Policy in its help centre
Help article 125, “Anti-Counterfeiting Policy”, read on 10 October 2026. No publication date is shown.

Help article 125 opens with two sentences that leave no room: products bought through the site “must be authentic”, and “the sale of non-authentic products is strictly prohibited.” It then names what counts as prohibited: “bootlegs, fakes, or pirated copies of products or content”, goods “illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured”, and anything that infringes intellectual property.

The consequences are listed twice in the same article. Kakobuy may decline the order, suspend or terminate the account “and any related accounts”, withhold funds, and dispose of the goods in its fulfilment centres at the buyer’s expense. It also says it will not deliver an order until it is “confident” the order is authentic and lawful where the buyer lives.

Where community framing and the official policy collide

Community language does not stay in the community. A beginner who learns the hobby from video titles inherits a frame in which the agent is simply the shipping step. Kakobuy’s own text rejects that frame in writing, and this site does not adopt it either.

Heard in agent-agnostic forums and video titles

Large parts of the wider community describe their shopping as buying replicas, and treat the agent as a neutral courier for it.

Buying inauthentic products is “strictly prohibited”; the buyer is responsible for checking.

Conflict Framing. The two positions cannot be reconciled, and only one of them is enforceable on your account.

Heard in first-order threads

“If it passed QC, the agent accepted it.”

Inspection excludes authenticity; brand items “cannot” be inspected professionally.

Conflict Inspection as cover. A photo set is not an acceptance of what the item is.

The policy’s closing section lists what Kakobuy may do when it acts on a suspicion: remove suspect listings, refuse an order, or decline because it is unable to validate authenticity. Those three verbs are the practical end of the argument.

What the policy asks a buyer to do

Help article 48, the purchase and transit disclaimer. Point 3 covers items Kakobuy cannot inspect professionally.

The policy is not only prohibitions. It sets out three duties, and they are worth reading as a checklist:

  1. Buy only authentic and legal products for your country. Legality is judged where you live, which is why the same item can be fine for one buyer and refused for another.
  2. Request records when in doubt. You may ask the seller for documentation such as invoices showing authenticity or authorisation to sell. Sellers may hide prices on those documents; any other editing makes the document a breach in itself.
  3. Report what you find. Authenticity concerns go to [email protected], the same address that handles ordinary support.

Notice what is absent: there is no promise that Kakobuy checks authenticity for you. Inspection explicitly excludes it (help 89), and the purchase disclaimer (help 48) says brand items “cannot” be inspected professionally for quality, authenticity or completeness.

Restricted and prohibited goods, a separate list from the policy

Help article 23, “The restrictions of Import & Export item”, read on 10 October 2026.

Two other lists sit beside the policy and are often confused with it. The import and export restrictions (help 23) reproduce China’s national lists: weapons and replica weapons, counterfeit currency, narcotics, poisons, and printed or recorded material judged harmful. These are about what may leave China at all.

The disclaimer in help 48 adds a practical layer. Essential oils, lubricants, batteries and glue are taken out of parcels “to guarantee your delivery”. Liquids, powders and electrical goods may be restricted by customs, and Kakobuy says it is not responsible for clearance when they are. It also warns, in the same list, that goods with brand imitation carry customs risk, which sits awkwardly beside a policy that prohibits buying them at all. We read the stricter text as the operative one.

Fragile items get their own warning: Kakobuy guarantees completeness before dispatch, and the buyer bears breakage in transit when the carrier has classed the item as fragile.

Third-party links, and why the strictest text wins

Links from outside the four crawled platforms go through Fill & Buy. Kakobuy’s position on those listings is the bluntest text on the site: it cannot verify quality or authenticity, offers no after-sales, and payments cannot be cancelled. Many community links point to exactly these sources.

If you take one thing from this page into a server conversation, make it this: a moderator can tell you what usually happens, but the policy decides what may happen to your account. When a channel says “nobody has had a problem”, that describes the past, not the rule.

Resolve eligibility before paying

A seller link loading successfully is a technical result, not permission to buy or ship the item. Check the goods restriction and the proposed route before purchase, especially for batteries, liquids and branded goods. If eligibility is unclear, ask about the specific item and destination. Do not assume a suggested packaging change removes a legal or carrier restriction.
